Isaiah Ch. 2

What did Isaiah see when he had the vision that inspired this verse? Maybe he saw the top of Mount Timpanogos. It's a pretty amazing site. Timpanogus looms over the Utah Valley like a sleeping guardian who might rise up and protect us if she gets disturbed. I had never been to the top, or to the top of any mountain and I really wanted to go. The top of a mountain is usually a quiet place, although Timpanogos can get down right busy at times. When I was there, it was quiet. I didn't get to see much because it was covered in clouds, but that made it feel more like I was close to Heaven. I decided that when I got to the top, I would leave my worries there. So when I got there, I unloaded my worries and brought home a rock to remember. For a while, when I got anxious about my worries, I would look at Timp and remember that I left them there. It worked for a while, but then my worries worked there way down the mountain and found me again. So then I went to the real mountain top instead. Journeying to the top of Timpanogos with friends is one of my favorite memories.
We left for our hike at midnight. Me, Cousin Jamie, Katie, and Marc

It was too late for people, but not too late for bears. Luckily, we didn't see any.

We didn't see much of the hike on the way up because it was pitch dark.

Sometime in the middle of the night, somewhere on the middle of a mountain.

Here we are at the saddle. I forgot to turn my headlamp off so no real proof I was there.

My friends all decided it was too dark, too cold, and too cloudy to go to the summit. I was determined so I set off with strangers. This is what it looked like when I left.

Katie and Marc napped and Jamie studied (not a common thing to do at the saddle) while they waited for me.

The views on the way down were spectacular.

Early morning in the meadow of Timp.

What an amazing adventure!
I never had a desire to do Timp while there but now that I am in better shape I think I would have really liked the feeling of finishing it. You are awesome, I love it!
So great!
Those pictures are spectacular! Like I've said before-you have to be willing to pay the price for such rewards. I'm proud of you, but I don't want to do it.MOM
Nice! Maybe you can do it again with me sometime :)
I want to do this hike in late spring 2011! I'm definitely going to get pointers from you and if you want to go again you can be my guide!
Dear Friends,
Yes, lets hike Timp together someday. I am totally in. And Mom. You could make it up to that beautiful meadow and I think you would love it!
